Queens: The Weight of Our Crown

Women of the African Diaspora should feel liberated to style and care for their hair at their leisure without judgment, but arguably most times we don’t.

Queens: The Weight of Our Crown at the Colored Girls Museum was developed and designed to establish an empathetic experience for the African Diasporic community around the subject of hair. Using summative evaluations and interactive responses I proved that creating an empathetic museum experience is both possible and necessary.
